Online Manipal welcomes Sikkim Manipal University’s 1st batch of online students! 

Online Manipal proudly welcomed the first batch of online students of Sikkim Manipal University through a virtual orientation. The orientation program provided a chance for students from different locations to engage with fellow learners and course coordinators, who will support them throughout the online program.

The virtual orientation kickstarted with a welcome speech by Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Dilip Chandra Agarwal, the Vice Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal Manipal University. He took pride in welcoming the first batch of online students of SMU, who will now become a significant part of Manipal legacy. “Our online degree programs are designed to provide you with quality education with a contemporary curriculum, that not only equips you with knowledge and skills demanded by the ever-evolving job market, but also fosters critical thinking and creativity,” he said.

Dr Sourav Dhar, the Director – Center for Distance and Online Education, Sikkim Manipal University, highlighted the role of SMU in building future leaders. He asserted that the online students will now become a part of the 6,00,000-member alumni network of SMU. He assured that the online degrees offered by SMU will empower learners to upgrade and upskill themselves to become leaders. “As we slip into a new journey, you will get in touch with renowned faculty members and connect with peers from different backgrounds,” he added.
