Dr. Abhishika Sharma is working as an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator- JMC at the Directorate of Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. She holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Commerce, and a Doctor of Philosophy in JMC in “Facebook Advertising”. Dr.Sharma has a combined academic and professional experience of 17 years. She has previously worked as an Additional Head and Assistant Professor at various universities in Jaipur. She has published eighteen papers in scholarly publications that are cited on a national and international scale. She has presented several research papers at conferences on both the national and international levels.
Dr. Aditya Kumar Shukla is working as an Associate Professor – Journalism and Mass Communication at the Directorate of Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. He has 12+ years of experience in teaching, research, administration, and industry. He previously worked with five Universities as a program coordinator and a member of the board of studies, academic council, research committees, examination committees, and discipline boards. He published 20+ research papers, edited seven, and authored a book and approximately forty editorial articles. He has attended 40+ conferences, faculty development programs, and workshops as a resource person, paper presenter, and attendee.
Dr. Seena Johnson is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) and course coordinator – Journalism & Mass Communication at the Directorate of Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. She has over seven years of teaching experience and holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Media & Mass Communication from Pondicherry University with a specialization in Film Studies. She has also cleared the UGC-NET (JRF) and SET in Journalism. Dr. Seena has presented various research papers at National and International Conferences and has many research publications to her credit. Besides, she has also served as an external examiner and question paper setter for both state and private universities.
Dr. Kanki Hazarika is working as an Assistant Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication at DOE, Manipal University Jaipur. She did her Ph.D. at the University of Hyderabad. Her areas of interest include the sociology of gender, gender and media, post-colonial studies, development communication, and communication theory.
Working in the education sector & social development sector for 5-6 years, I came across a tribal village in Telangana and I really wanted to capture their stories. But I didn’t have the right skills, attitude and mindset to capture them. This is where Manipal University Jaipur is empowering me with an online MA JMC degree. On successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a printed degree certificate from Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). The certificate will be issued by the Directorate of Online Education – Manipal University Jaipur and would capture details like student name, photo, government issued ID and program name. The back side of the certificate will also carry details such as date of admission, date of completion, mode of delivery and other details.

Yes. From the academic year 2022-23, it has been made mandatory for all universities offering courses in online or distance learning modes to create ABC accounts for all their students as per the UGC regulation and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital storehouse of the credits earned by students during their academic journey. It is a credit bank for students that allows them to accumulate, verify, transfer, and redeem their credits. This is an initiative from the Ministry of Education, Government of India to enable academic flexibility and students’ mobility across multiple Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has mandated that every learner who is an Indian national needs to submit the following details for creating their ABC account:
The university will reach out to enrolled students for details required to create their ABC accounts and will provide these details to UGC. Once the ABC account is created, the credits earned by the learners in their term-end exam will get deposited into their respective ABC accounts which they can redeem within 7 years. All applications will be evaluated for eligibility by the admissions team of Manipal University Jaipur. In case the university requires further clarification or documents, the candidate will be intimated via email, SMS or phone. Final decision regarding selection will be notified to the candidate within five working days of submitting the application.
The admission process for Manipal University Jaipur’s online degrees is straight forward keeping in mind the students’ convenience and regulatory requirements. Manipal University Jaipur’s online programs are delivered in a 100% online mode so that students can attend live classes on weekends and complete the program remotely, while also pursuing their professional and personal commitments in parallel.
Yes. The program is delivered through a mix of live lectures in which students can interact directly with faculty and self-paced learning. Self-paced learning is driven by video lectures, e-books, quizzes, and assignments that are delivered using a state-of-the-art LMS.
Students are expected to attend live classes, recorded sessions, and go through at least 75% of the self-learning content (reading material and video lectures). This would ensure they are eligible to appear for the final exams.
After admission is confirmed by the university, students will receive access to the Learning Management System (LMS), student portal and e-library. Students can then start accessing the course material and begin their learning journey.
Students are given access to an exhaustive e-library with 200,000+ books, video lectures, audio-visual interactive material, virtual classroom sessions, audio podcasts, virtual simulations, and self-assessment quizzes or tests. Students are free to download e-books and print them for convenience.
Although the learning is flexible, students are expected to spend at least 15-20 hours per week watching concept videos, reading learning material, attempting quizzes, and attending live webinars. This would ensure that you get your degree within the minimum duration.
Students will be assigned dedicated course mentors and coordinators who can be contacted to clarify doubts using discussion forums, instant messaging, and email on the Learning Management System (LMS). Students can also interact with course coordinators during live webinars.

The University term-end examination (TEE) will be held digitally viz. computer-based and online proctored.
Candidates can appear for the exams from the comfort of their homes.
The details of the examination schedule will be made available in the photo admit card. Other details on the examination pattern are available in the program guide provided to students.
Examination results will be published on the student portal. If a student fails to clear any of the papers (either in UE or IA or both), he must re-appear by applying to the University through the re-sitting application along with relevant fees, within the due date.
On satisfying all criteria stipulated by the University, successful students will be awarded their respective program degree by the University.
A student’s performance evaluation will be based on both continuous assessments (CA) through assignments and term-end examinations (TEE) which consist of descriptive and multiple-choice questions. A student must score at least 40% in each of these to be declared as having passed the exam. The assessment ratios of TEE to CA is 70:30.
Practical papers (as applicable)
The assessment in the practical part is based on performance in guided exercises (i.e., day-to-day exercises) and unguided exercises. The latter will be conducted on the last day of the practical sessions in each subject with an external examiner.
A student must score at least 40% in both the parts to be declared as having passed.
Students must score at least 40% in continuous evaluation and 40% in semester-end examinations in each course to successfully complete the program. In case the minimum score is not attained, they will need to apply for a repeat exam and improve their score to pass the course.
