With a warm Khamma Ghani, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) welcomed its online learners to the campus for the 4th Convocation Ceremony on September 20, 2025. What unfolded was an unforgettable event woven with celebration of achievement, legacy, and limitless possibilities.

The day at the Pink City began with learners from across the country showing up at the registration desk with a sleeve full of aspirations and a heart full of pride. Introducing their families to the faculty who guided them, the peers who supported them, and showing the campus that felt like home, the online learners were in for a treat!

A Grand Beginning

Amongst the hustle bustle of the learners in the hall, the event began on a vibrant note. Dignitaries made their entrance to the stirring sound of bagpipes, and a traditional Rajasthani folk walk, symbolizing knowledge and new beginnings. The procession of the academic council and chief guest set the stage, followed by the soulful rendition of the Manipal Kulgeet, which filled the hall with pride and emotion.

This year’s convocation was historic in a lot of ways. With 4,000+ graduates receiving their degrees, MUJ’s online community proudly crossed the 100,000 milestone since the inception of its online degree programs.

Graduates represented 27 countries and 23 Indian states, spanning diverse age groups, careers, and life journeys. From young professionals embarking on fresh paths to mid-career achievers reshaping their futures, this gathering was a powerful reminder of how MUJ has built a truly global classroom.

Voices of Inspiration

The stage soon came alive with words of encouragement and vision from key dignitaries –

Dr. Karunakar A. Kotegar, Pro President, MUJ, reminded the graduates of the rich Manipal legacy:
“With over 2.5 lakh alumni worldwide, we are proud inheritors of Dr. TMA Pai’s dream and today you will join the bandwagon of the Manipal family. This year also marks a special occasion as we celebrated Dr. Ramdas M. Pai’s birthday on 17 September. He brought Dr. TMA Pai’s vision to life and we are all witnesses to it.”

Dr. N. N. Sharma, President, MUJ, highlighted MUJ’s rapid rise:
“In a short span of 14 years, CDOE, MUJ has crossed 100,000 students and you should be proud to be a part of this legacy. There are 1100 universities in India and MUJ has been awarded 58th rank by NIRF in 2025. It is a great achievement for all of us to have come this far in just 14 years.”

Mr. Mukesh Jain, CTO, Capgemini, drew from his 30 years of experience, imparting lessons anchored in the 4 As:
I’ve learned that success rests on the 4 As: Ambition – always think big, Attitude – your mindset shapes your path, Audacity – dare to take on challenges, and Action – because nothing matters until you get it done.

Mr. Ambrish Sinha, CEO, UNext Learning, celebrated the grit of learners:
“Online learning is a lifelong goal for all of us. You need grit and determination to complete your program, and you all are the testament for this incredible journey.”

Each address was a spark of inspiration, igniting hope and confidence in the hearts of learners seated in the event hall.

The Hallmark Moment: Degrees Conferred

The highlight of the day was the conferring of degrees. One by one, learners walked across the stage to receive their certificates, symbols of months and years of dedication and the delicate balancing of work, family, and academics. As each name was announced, the hall filled with applause, cheers, and even a few joyful tears.

The graduates then stood together to take the oath of responsibility, pledging to use their knowledge for the greater good. It was a defining moment and an acknowledgment that education is not just a personal milestone but also a responsibility toward society.
