Prof. Madhu VeeraraghavanDirector - TAPMI & T. A. Pai Chair Professor of Finance
Madhu Veeraraghavan is the Director and Chair Professor of Finance at TAPMI. He also oversees all the management programs at MAHE and teaches behavioral finance and corporate finance. Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan has done his Ph.D. in Finance from Griffith Business School, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia. His work has appeared in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, and others. He previously served as faculty at reputed business schools.

Jeevan J Arakal is an Associate Professor and Executive Chair of Education Programs and VEL at TAPMI. He is also the Chairperson of Branding and PR. Meera L. B. Aranha is a Professor and Chairperson of MBA - BKFS at TAPMI. She teaches Management of Banks with specific reference to Banking Finance, Risk & Compliance, and Audit & Legal Implications. Prof. Meera Aranha was a dedicated Banker with 30 years of experience in credit, treasury, audit, legal, and recovery facets of banking. What is virtual learning?
Programs delivered in a device-to-device mode in a virtual learning environment are termed “virtual learning” programs. An interactive live classroom environment is created for the participants, and the rigor and engagement of the classroom environment are replicated in a high-quality technology-enabled learning platform. Virtual learning provides an opportunity for working professionals to study without taking a break from their careers.
Is the program completely virtual?
Yes, the entire programme is delivered through online platforms. The experience is seamless with a digital whiteboard, hand raise for dynamic participation, and chat options for unobtrusive queries, when required.
How is the program delivered?
- Lectures will be delivered through an appropriate online platform like Zoom or Microsoft Teams
- Learners can attend the sessions using a laptop/ mobile at your convenience in your city
- Classes will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays
- There will be 5 sessions per week, every session will run for 90 minutes
- Multiple assessment modes will be used to test and facilitate learning
- Participants will be provided with e-books and reading material for each course

What are the credentials of the faculty that would be teaching the online program?
The online program would be taught by the same faculty that teaches the on-campus BKFS program. However, TAPMI reserves the right to decide and change the faculty without prior intimation.
How is the program delivered? Is it a correspondence course?
This is NOT a correspondence program. The program is offered through live online sessions, where you interact with the faculty in real-time. It is a synchronous process; however, all classroom recordings will be shared with program participants post-completion of the session.
How does a virtual program differ from traditional programs?
Virtual learning programs are as rigorous as traditional classes. All features of traditional classes, such as class participation, assignments, group collaboration, and project work to name a few, are available in this technology-enabled environment as well.
Is the online MBA- BKFS program the same as the on-campus program at TAPMI?
The on-campus and online programs both offer the same degree ie– MBA- BKFS. While the online program is inspired and based on the reception and demand for the on-campus program, the online program has been specially curated to suit working professionals. TAPMI has made necessary changes to the curriculum and other offerings of the program to enable the delivery in 100% online mode.

Can I start this program anytime?
While you cannot start the online MBA in BKFS anytime, you can choose your own time to study and interact with faculty and go through the course content.

Will I get a certificate for this program?
Yes, you will receive a degree certificate after successful completion of online MBA in BKFS by TAPMI, a constituent unit of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

What is the program fee?
The actual program fee is INR 7,00,000. However, there is a special inaugural batch fee of INR 5,60,000. The application fee is INR 1,500.
What is the overall intake for the program?
Unlike most online programs, this program limits the intake to only 120 learners. This is to ensure there are ample opportunities for quality interaction between the cohort and the faculty members that amplify learning outcomes for all the learners.
What is the selection process?
Interested candidates must apply online on onlinemanipal.com or tapmi.onlinemanipal.com by paying an application fee of INR 1500. Based on the details and documents submitted, a profile-based selection will be conducted. Candidates will be intimated via email about the outcome of selection process.
In between the program, if a learner is transferred or gets a job abroad, can she/he complete the program from there?
There is no location constraint for the program. The program is 100% online and can be attended from any place that has a stable internet connection.
What are the documents required to apply for this program?
The documents required are – copies of your graduation or degree certificate along with a copy of the transcript, a letter from the employer justifying your relevant work experience (wherever applicable), along with a registration fee of INR 1500/- (non-refundable). Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and might change based upon directives from the institute.
Will there be an interview/test for admission to this program?
There is no interview or entrance test for the selection of candidates.
Are graduates running their own businesses eligible for this program?
Yes, they are eligible provided they present the appropriate professional credentials to enrol for the program.
What are the financing options available to students?

How many hours do I need to spend on this program?
Learners will need to spend around 15-20 hours/week for a period of 24 months to complete this program. We recommend attendance of 75% per course in the program.
If I am unable to attend classes regularly, can I directly connect with the faculty?
The recommended attendance per course is 75%. Session recordings will be available for all program participants who cannot attend a session or for those who wish to revisit them.
Will I be able to access classes when I am traveling?
You can access and attend classes while you are traveling. However, we do not recommend this option as you might have unstable network connection. As mentioned earlier, recordings of all classroom sessions will be available to all program participants.
Can I take up classes while I am abroad?
Yes, if you have a stable internet connection and the time zone is convenient for you.
If I face any technical issues, will the classes be repeated for me?
Though technical issues are uncommon, recorded sessions will be available for you to revisit in case you face an issue during live sessions.
Does the online program also include Bloomberg finance lab, student-managed investment course, and training by SBI and BSE that are available for the on-campus program?
The program is curated to suit the working professionals in the online environment and all these offerings are not feasible for such a setup. Hence, these offerings are not available for the online program.
Is the online BKFS curriculum CFA C-BOK and FRM certified?
While the curriculum is not CFA C-BOK and FRM certified, it will enable students to prepare for these certifications.
What are the electives offered in the online MBA- BKFS program?
Students can choose from 4 industry-oriented elective baskets – Analytics for Banking and Finance, Banking, Capital Markets, and Advanced Corporate Finance.
What is the minimum attendance required?
The minimum attendance required is 75%.
Can I take a break?
The program has a defined start and finish date. A grace period of one month is given for the completion of course-related formalities.
Is the project work to be done after or during the program duration?
Project work needs to be completed within the program duration and within the time frame specified in the program. As mentioned above, a month’s grace period is given for the completion of all evaluation components except the end-term examination. In case a participant misses the end-term examination, an application for re-examination must be submitted. Candidates can take the re-exam upon payment of the examination fees.
How are the assessment and grading done for an individual at the end of the session?
A student is assessed on her/his performance in quizzes followed by individual or group assignments like case analysis, and projects given to them from time to time. Every course also has an end-term examination which is an individual component. Accordingly, grades are awarded as prescribed in the program outline.
Would the course material given by TAPMI suffice, or do learners have to refer to other books for successful completion of online MBA in BKFS?
The course material supplied by TAPMI is sufficient. For extra or additional information, one may refer to other books online or visit any library.
How do we communicate with the faculty outside of classroom timings?
You can directly email the faculty for program-related queries. Discussions forums are also a useful way to clear doubts.
